REGISTER YOUR CROP SEAT BELOW

Use the Paypal drop down buttons below to register for your crop seat on Saturday, March 6th. Choose either Full Day Option or Half Day AM or Half Day PM Option.

Your crop registration includes 6' of cropping space, snacks, welcome package, lots of door prizes, make 'n takes, use of tools on the 'tool table', Creative Memories and Stampin Up vendors for your shopping convenience and a discount for the card class if you choose to take it.

This time the crop fee does not include lunch or dinner. You may bring your own food or eat out at nearby restaurants. Or, if you choose, you may purchase a lunch or dinner meal option. Depending on how many people choose this option lunch will be wrap sandwiches or Subway and dinner will be lasagna or pizza. Both will include salad and a pop or bottle of water and cost $5.00 each. B.C. Christian Academy is a non-profit private school that only receives 50% of the operational funding and no capital funding given to public schools by the government. This makes it extremely difficult to offer certain elective courses to the high school students. Automotive is one of those courses. However, last spring a group of students were so eager to have an automotive elective they convinced Mr. Jarvie, the principal, to teach the class and pooled their own money to purchase a 1991 Firebird in desperate need of restoration (see picture below). The students have provided their own tools and with some help from the automotive department at Langley Christian School proceeded to start the restoration process. Because teenagers have limited funds, and because they have taken ownership of this class and are so eager and enthusiastic to make something out of this vehicle, and mostly, because my own son is a part of this class, I have decided to organize this fun day as a way to help them raise a small part of the funds they will require. These students have a dream – to restore and race this car in the High School Drag Racing Competition at Mission Raceway in June 2010. Although they may have set the bar high I believe that when our children have a dream we should, as adults, encourage and empower them as best we can. Life will throw them enough curve balls in the years to come but if we can encourage and help them reach that dream, the sense of accomplishment that follows will give them confidence to face whatever curve balls life may throw at them. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 tells us to "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up".
Come and join us in this fun-filled day and help some of our students realize a dream!
